Garden Designers
I work closely with Garden Designers across the UK to capture their designs and construction projects. Garden designers are fantastic to work alongside; passionate about their craft, dedicated to their work, and create picturesque landscapes that photograph beautifully.
London Landscape Garden Photographer
Being a London garden photographer allows a front row seat to the cutting edge of garden design. Gardens in highly populated urban environments with limited space and awkward garden shapes often produce the most creative designs.
Garden Photographer
Photographing designer gardens in London and across the UK offers an individual insight into the huge variety of styles, trends and approaches to designing the perfect garden. Each garden presents a unique set of parameters and possibilities that makes every garden unique.
Garden Photographer: Thai Forest
This Thai garden was inspired by the home owners love for travel. Spanning multiple layers, photographing this garden needed height to show off the design. Thankfully nearby roofs could be climbed - and precariously balanced on - to help show off the pockets of smaller spaces curated by the designer. One Important feature was the accessibility ramp to allow wheelchair access to all parts of the garden. It's seeing unique features like this, a necessity by the home owner, incorporated into the design in an effective and aesthetically pleasing way that make photographing gardens such good fun.

How to Photograph A Garden: Capturing Atmosphere
This particular garden is only small corner on a large estate. Split into two sections; the swimming pool entertainment area and this newly designed garden. This garden has a sense of tranquility to counter the busy party space. It's low, flowing design gives space for the viewers eyes to freely wander back and forth. The grey stones with larger rock deposits give the feel of a gentle river weaving through the garden, meandering around the natural bench.

International Garden Photographer: Bolt From The Blue
This fantastic garden is all about the lights and the privacy.
Privacy
The garden is part of a basement apartment, surrounded by tall buildings and onlooking windows. Creating a sense of privacy with tall vegetation in palm trees and bamboo was integral to the design and enjoyment of the space it created.
Lighting
The real hero of this garden is the lighting. The lightning bolt strikes from the home, across the garden and splitting the patio - this can be seen much more clearly in the nighttime photographs. A personal favourite feature is the lighting wrapping around the palm trees; adding an engaging vertical dimension to the lighting.

Front Garden Drive Design
When is a driveway not a driveway? When it's an amazing space you'd want to spend time! Photographing this front garden was focused on both its function and design. One key feature, a rolling gate. The size of this home is deceptive. It sits on a steep hill and opens up like a TARDIS into several bedrooms and multiple living rooms. Lots of space, lots of people, lots of cars. The design of this driveway needed to keep enough space park and manoeuvre multiple cars, aided by the decision of a rolling gate. Overall this photographing front garden meant capturing the inviting feel you get when walking or driving in. Warm lighting lashing over the foliage, leading visitors to the front door.

Award Winning Garden Photographer: Curvilinear
Photographing the design of this award winning gardens (BALI) changed between Daytime and Nighttime garden photography. Side note: Only the garden adjacent to the home was part of this design.
Daytime
This garden is about enjoying the view. The view from the house looking immediately onto the garden that runs the full length of the home. And the view from the garden of the picturesque landscapes that surround the property. The flowing design is shown best from the garden drone photography, in particular the sweeping pathway that connects the garden areas together.
Nighttime
The garden acts as an extension of the home, creating outdoor rooms, perfect for entertaining. French doors open up all along the house to tie the indoor and outdoors together. Sadly this garden photography took place when the dreaded c-word pandemic was in full swing, so there are no photographs from the inside looking out to show a real appreciation for the design and views. But creating an outdoor dining room, living room and even a pizza oven, it's easy to see how the design of this garden is perfect for some full throttle post pandemic partying.

Landscaped Garden Photography
This garden is built for a family. Being a garden photographer often involves capturing beautifully complex craftsmanship with uniquely inspired designs. The reality is most families want a clean, easy to manage space for kids to run around in. This garden offers that, plus BBQ space, dining area and outside living room. The garden flows from outside to in, expanding the house footprint.
