Wimbledon

We set out to photograph and video this newly refurbished Wimbledon apartment in a single day. Restricted by sundown at 4:30pm, Richard (videographer) and I worked carefully around each other to style, curate and clean every room.

Architectural Photographer, Wimbledon

Photographing architecture in Wimbledon, London, often means trying to incorporate SW19's world famous summer tennis event in a creative way. It very rarely means it can be photographed OUTSIDE THE WINDOW!

The home owner described having Wimbledon parties, inviting over friends, watching on the TV and opening the windows to hear the raw atmosphere from the crowds. W.O.W!

Even to our non-tennis fan videographer, this was a very cool London interior project to photograph.

One Photo - Day & Night Versions

This photo above and below were both taken at the same time.  They're the same photos, with different blending and editing styles.

Why?  We ran out of sunshine and had to improvise.  But can you tell!?

Interior and architectural photographers are paid to solves problems. In a busy day of photographing, it can feel like we're constantly putting our fires and solving new problems as they arise on the day. The day & night technique above and below was a solution to a timing issue.

Wimbledon Interior Design Photography

This apartment was designed and styled by the owners. The light, earthy tones throughout the home add airiness during the day, and a warmth at night.

Homes designed with intent make for the best interior photography. This is not the first stylish Wimbledon home I've photographed and likely won't be the last!

Darker Kitchens

It's bold and refreshing to see black used as the feature colour in any room, particularly in kitchens. This colour contrast effectively plays off the lighter tones and gets accented by the chrome dials.

When photographing this kitchen, we had several compositions that worked beautifully. Ultimately the view over Wimbledon Common won, not only to emphasise the special London location, but the glisten of light on over the black cabinets (frame right) added a gorgeous texture and dimension to the wood.
