The Campaign

Produce a set of interior photographs for London interior design company, Trend Designs. We photograph on a project-by-project basis rather than for a wider marketing campaign. All our projects (to date) have been set in London.

The Photoshoot

This London architectural photoshoot was over two days with two nearby projects  captured simultaneously. The low winter sun created a few issues, bringing in colours casts from nearby buildings and creating some unwanted shadows.

London Bedroom Photography

Being Interior Photographer in London means photographing a lot of bedrooms. Bedroom photography so often includes beautifully crafted adult rooms or a young child's room with soft toys everywhere. It's a rare treat to photograph an adolescent / teenager room. This room photographed beautifully. The muted pallet with strong, bold statement pieces screams a young person trying to find their voice in the world. It really feels like this room has a teenagers personality.

London Study Photography

Photographing home offices were getting rarer and rarer before the C-word of 2020.  As people moved away from home working, shared office spaces became the preferred route and studies were turned into playrooms and home fitness centres. Fast forward a few years and the home office is the necessity of modern living. As one of the most used rooms in the home, it's a really important feature to photograph. The photographs on the wall really stood out as a good piece of interior design; working at your desk, looking up and escaping into holidays.

London Bedroom Photography

The chairs. Two different colours. After delivering London interior design photographs, designers and architects often ask to change colours and features within the room to match the original designs rather than the real world outcome. We changed the chair colour to blend in to the tones of the room in a more succinct aesthetic. I like both versions so included once of each below.  Architectural photography in London requires flexibility and a willingness to align the photographs with the designers vision.

London Living Room Photography

London architectural photography revolves around capturing the human element of the built environment; and it's not different when being a London interior photographer. We decided on this photoshoot that the wider images of this small London living room didn't capture the feeling and an atmosphere in the way we wanted. Instead, we decided to capture the vignettes created by Trend Deigns.

London Dining Room Photography

Black is a bold colour to use. In a good way. For me I like to see black as a strong accent colour, atop of lighter, airier tones. This kitchen diner works well in that regard. Black photographs nicely, particularly with an abundance of natural light flooding into the scene. If I could change one thing, I'd lower the earth photograph and realign it to match Mars and Mercury. Perhaps that's my architectural photographer OCD talking, rather than my interior design capabilities.

London Child's Bedroom Photography

Trend Designs create some great kids rooms. Possibly my favourite London interior designer of bedrooms for youngsters. We only had time for one photograph in this London home, but one was all we needed. I really like the simplicity in the design; muted colours of oceanic greens softly accent the neutral greys. Plus planets. Who doesn't love planets.
