Brighton Retail Photographer | The Laines & The Lanes
Marketing Agency: DS Emotion | Dukes Lane, Brighton
Brighton Photographer | Commercial Photographer Brighton
The Campaign
The principal aim of the London marketing agency was to generate promotional imagery to attract high end commercial tenants to move to the well known Brighton Lane. The secondary goal was to create stylish Brighton commercial photography to compliment the online and social media marketing strategies.
Dukes Lane
Dukes Lane lives at the heart of the infamous Brighton Lanes, home to the fashionista brands of Fred Perry, Profile, Toast & Farrah but to name a few. It's a cute, quirky street of luxury items, pop ups and events.
The Photoshoot
This is an ongoing Brighton commercial photographer project, spread over multiple years, and multiple seasons. As investment went into the Brighton Lane, regular top up photography collateral was needed. This also created new, updated imagery for social media advertising and fresh content for the Dukes Lane website.

Photographing Brighton Lanes at Night
Seeing the Brighton Lanes at night is special. If you're lucky enough to walk through them during twilight hours when the sun has just set, the exterior light and interior lights match in intensity. In this narrow time frame, the Brighton shop window displays emanate light onto the narrow walkways and street lights come to life. Twilight is the perfect time to capture architectural photographs, particularly the Brighton Lanes.

The Lanes Photography - Daytime
Dukes Lane is one of the most picturesque lanes to photograph in Brighton. Being a commercial photographer, you can't always choose what you're capturing, particularly in retail photography. So when a subject with character comes along like Dukes Lane, it's a treat to capture the history and nuances on the Brighton street that a modern shopping mall is lacking. The photographs below could be considered more Brighton architectural photography rather than shots from a Brighton commercial photographer, but the fields so often converge.

Photographing Brighton Lane Shop Owners
Part of what makes Dukes Lane special is the community of shop owners that reside and work alongside each other day by day. This community is shared and talked about with shoppers and visitors through a monthly Lane Magazine thats freely distributed along the lane. The photographs of Brighton shop owners are used in this magazine to help build a sense of local community with visitors. Over the years I've captured many Brighton headshots of shop owners, below are a few recent examples.

Photographing Brighton Instagram Influencer on Dukes Lane
Back when we all thought influencers were a good idea, I spent a morning with the super friendly Rachel Buckley. The marketing agency (DS. Emotion) wanted to capture a 'day of shopping on Dukes Lane' that would be pushed out over social platforms to influence fans into visiting the Brighton Lane. We bought clothes, tried out make up, found a new skin care routine and window shopped to create our photographs.

Brighton Food & Drink Photography
Being a Brighton food photographer isn't quite my forte. But being a Brighton commercial photographer, there's a time and place to capture some stock style photography to promote the food on Dukes Lane. Sadly Holly's has now closed and been replaced by another cafe; but had they not I'd fully recommend their sausage sandwich and vegan brownie!
