Photography & Your Day - Simon Callaghan Photography

Guide to Wedding Photography

Small gnomes are working on making this page beautiful. However they've used the same pictures repeatedly. They've asked me to ask you to ignore them.

"After the day is done, it is only your photographs that remain"

Here is a simple breakdown of the different photographic areas of wedding I capture. They are a broad example of what you can expect, but of course these are adaptable to your  day.  Hopefully this will simplify the mind-boggling task that is finding your wedding photographer :)

There are also my two Tip-Top-Tips for choosing your wedding photographer - scroll down for these.

The Bridal Preparation

The images of the bride and bridal party preparing for the big day.  These are possibly my favourite to capture.

Falling completely into the background and letting events unfold, these natural shots capture the excitement, nerves and emotions of your wedding day.

The Details

This is also the time for capturing the dress, the jewellery and all those intricate details you've so tirelessly prepared.

The Bridal Party & The Groomsman

Before the ceremony, these pictures capture you with those closet to you. It's an opportunity to photograph your group dressed to the nines and looking their finest. They're relaxed, engaging and a lot of fun.

The Ceremony

Whether you're marrying in a church, a hall or a temple, these are special moments.  All emotions will be on show.

The Formals

Weddings are made up of smaller groups. Grooms family, brides family, mutual friends, colleagues but to name a few. This gives every group an opportunity to have their photograph taken with the happy couple.

Who gets photographed is up to you, but can include:

   - Everyone

   - Brides family

   - Grooms family

   - Friends

   - Parents and grandparents

   - Bridal party & groomsmen

The Keys

The beautiful photographs of you as the happily married couple. These are the images you'll fall in love with, show off to your friends and become heirlooms for your family.

This is time to capture just you two. Having already scouted the venue and planned a route with minimal walking and beautiful scenery, you'll be back with your guests in no time at all.

The Reception

This is the fun part of your evening!  The speeches, the dancing, the laughing etc. Here is where we capture guests enjoying your wedding.
